Overview

Scion is a Crown Research Institute (CRI), which is a government-owned company that carries out scientific research for the benefit of New Zealand. We specialise in research, science and technology development for the forestry, wood and wood-derived materials and other biomaterial sectors.

This Request for Proposal (RFP) seeks proposals for full replacement of the existing lift equipment at their Head Office based in Rotorua, Bay of Plenty.

The objective is to reinstate vertical transportation lift service to L Block within the Scion facility, providing reliable access and compliant operation to users as detailed in RFP, Schedule A.1 Description of Existing Equipment, by a further 20-25 years, delivering optimised performance for all users.
This will be achieved by undertaking a full replacement of the existing lift in the shortest time possible with current Code compliant lift equipment from a globally recognised, lift manufacturing and reputable service company which best reflects Scion’s current and future needs.
To where possible eliminate, isolate or minimise identified safety related hazard works with alignment to current New Zealand Code compliance requirements.
All works shall be undertaken with minimal inconvenience to building occupants and lift users being the baseline.
